Having owned 6 mk3’s and a 59 bug I was ready to “upgrade” to something more luxurious. So I searched and searched until I purchased my beloved GLI from Auburn’s Super Mall center display in 2007. The car had 24k miles on it, and was driven by the owner of Auburn VW. I daily drove it until 2008, increasing the mileage to 51k miles. At which point it got a Boser hood and shaved trunk by Artistic Creations in Lakewood Wa, BBS LM reps and Koni coilovers.

1 year/ 4k miles later in 2009 the car got turbo-back exhaust, cold air intake, front mount intercooler, stage 2 Revo, a polished intake manifold, shaved valve cover, 4 bar fuel pressure regulator, Samco diverter valve, completely custom stereo system, Samco boost hose kit and some other miscellaneous minor details. The car placed 2nd at WaterWerk’s and Pacific Waterland’s in 2009.

In late 2009 the car was resprayed Platinum Grey by Artistic Creations. In 2010 the car sat with the mileage at 57k and 2011 the wheels were updated to a staggered set of Privat Kups, it placed 1st at WaterWerks and Pacific Waterland’s.

I loved this car, but I felt with it completed to my liking and having it place in all 4 shows it was time to move on. I sold it in November 2011. Welp, on to the next build with the support from my wonderful girlfriend Kady…98 Ginster GTI coming soon…
