StanceWars 2012

Andrew Events

In the weeks prior to StanceWars i can remember asking my friends if they were going to the show, since the show doesn’t have as long of a history as some of the other events in the pacific northwest i could immediately see the doubtful gaze growing in their eyes. I would go on to convince them of the great experience i had last year, describing the layed back atmosphere and all the great cars, the fantastic location, only to end my argument by simply stating, StanceWars was by far my favorite event of the year.

The Old School Reunion 2012

Andrew Events

One again HappenStance Event Productions has put up a great show and cruise that really brings all of the old school community together. The atmosphere was really just that, a Reunion, where people once again came back together after a long winter to hang out and enjoy all of the old cars.

PNW SpringMeet 2012

Andrew Events

It’s another crisp morning and we are headed out to PNW SpringMeet just east of downtown Seattle Washington. As the first swap meet and show off the year in the pacific northwest this event seems to set the tone for the long awaited summer months here. Although Seattle doesn’t have months of snow the rainy season is just bad enough to keep you in the garage restoring that classic you have.

Springmeet was started in the early 1960’s by a group of enthusiasts that formed Northwest Vw Club. As times change and people come and go and this event was transferred to Mike Tolliver just a few short years ago. Keeping with tradition, the event is still held early or late in April and attracts the finest classic Volkswagens. Read more ›

H2O International + Weekend 2011

Andrew Events

As i am returning to the Northwest after what has become my semi-annual trip to the East coast, and first time at H2OI. I begin to edit the pictures from the big weekend and can’t help but notice the differences in styling and culture in the automotive community between the Northwest and East coast.

Tailored Seattle

Andrew Events

It has been agreed on by many, Tailored Seattle was by far one of the best most well gathered selections of cars that we had seen in the Northwest in a long time. The atmosphere at the show was just about perfect, there wasn’t much of a competition or even anything in the way of trophies at all, but to be honest i wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Without the traditional trophies, judging and the like it gave the night a much more relaxed and laid back feel. In my opinion I think there needs to be more shows, or meets rather, like this. Do everyone a favor and take the stress right out of the event, and encourage others to get out there and meet new people, just hang out and have a good time. Read more ›

WaterWerks 2011

Andrew Events

While editing photos i often try to think about what I want to write, how I want to write my short summary of the days events, but while editing the photos (more than 200 I might add) I kept coming back to the same thought. WaterWerks, to much of the VAG (and finally BMW’s) scene in the Northwest is much more than just a car show. WaterWerks is much more monumental than just what is likely to be seen on the surface.

It is something like a bookmark in time, some of the people I talk with on a day-to-day basis refer to it as a project deadline (you know who you are) and can be referenced at any time throughout the year. Others, while the before mentioned might be true to some extent, just can’t wait to see what the Northwest (and you know the Northwest always does it big) will bring to the table this year.
